The light is on. The time is yours.
An ordinary garage can be a very good place to be.
Garage After Hours is a publication about making garages more useful for work, hobbies, creativity, and downtime. A workbench and a good chair can belong in the same story. So can an unfinished project.
We look for attainable changes: a lamp in a better position, a project that has somewhere to wait, a little less searching and a little more doing. Sometimes the answer is useful gear. Sometimes it is moving something you already own.
What you will find here
Practical planning guides, ideas for making and organizing, and ways to make downtime more comfortable. We also use visual studies to explore ways a space could work.
A useful idea should survive a closer look.
We distinguish researched guidance from actual testing. We do not call a generated room a completed makeover, or claim to have used a product because we have read about it. Specific sources and limitations belong beside the advice.
Cars can be part of garage life. The room itself is the subject here: a workshop, a studio, a quiet corner, a place to make something because you want to.
